CMA Engineers and its principals and staff are experienced in the planning, design, and construction administration of wastewater treatment facilities and collection system improvements. Many of our communities’ wastewater treatment facilities were constructed in the 1970’s and 1980’s. CMA Engineers has completed evaluations and design of all aspects of wastewater collection systems including: replacement of aged sewer infrastructure, sewer/stormwater separation, capacity analyses, and pumping station upgrades.
Many of our projects have been in conjunction with full utility replacement and street improvements including in historical downtown districts with 100+ year old pipes. Many of the mechanical components of those facilities might have been projected to have a useful life of 10–15 years when new. In many cases, much of the original equipment is still in use, a decade or two after one would expect to initially consider equipment replacement.
Capital improvement planning and major equipment replacement will be necessary to provide facility reliability into the future. CMA Engineers has been responsible for the engineering for pumping, process, sludge thickening and dewatering, odor control, disinfection, and general facility improvements for treatment facilities.
