Have you checked-out the “Phase 2” section that was completed on November 15? You can now bike, walk, run, or blade from downtown Salem to downtown Derry, 9.3 miles of nicely paved rail trail. Parking is available at four locations: the Salem municipal lot across Main Street from Salem Depot; trail-side parking at the Salem-Windham town line (enter from Route 28); the Windham Depot, and Hood Park in Derry. Our “Friends” group has already installed four granite benches along Phase 2 with more amenities planned for the spring. Meanwhile, get out there and enjoy the trail!
